I first met Alex at a Kehila Chadasha High Holiday service many years ago, if memory serves well. He recollected stories of his time spent in Eastern Europe (Russia and Poland, as I recall) during WW II. He knew a wealth of Russian-Jewish music that he shared with us musicians. He is still very much alive in my memory! God rest him!
