Not sure what to say?

I first met Alex at a Kehila Chadasha High Holiday service many years ago, if memory serves well. He recollected stories of his time spent in Eastern Europe (Russia and Poland, as I recall) during WW II. He knew a wealth of Russian-Jewish music that he shared with us musicians. He is still very much alive in my memory! God rest him!

Dear Richard, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem, and may you know no more sorrow.

My condolences to the family. I met Alex around 1998 when he joined our band playing Eastern European music. He was a delightful fellow with a cheerful smile. He relayed to me his eventful travels after WWII to get to America. He was a delight to jam with and I know he will be missed.

Alex was a fine musician and a wonderful man! He will be greatly missed! May his family and friends be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem!

May our God of all comfort and peace be with your family during this time of sadness.

My deepest condolences to the Gakner family. Alex was a gentleman and an outstanding musician. I loved to listen to him play and even more to jam with him. And 35 years ago, when I was an editor with The Jewish Week, I believe I even wrote a column about Alex and Folk and Baroque, and the contribution they made to Jewish folk music in the DC area. Alex will be missed by many, including me.

I AM VERY SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF YOUR LOVE ONE PLEASE TRUST IN THE GOD OF COMFORT HE WILL SUSTAIN YOU PSALMS 83;18.
