Alexander Gitchev

My father was a great man.

He was a man of courage.
And a man of principal.
He was a giving man.
A man who always thought of others before himself.
A man who sacrificed for those he loved.

He was an optimistic man and a romantic.
He was writer and a poet.
He was a man of big ideas and deep philosophies.

He was a family man.
A son, a brother.
A husband, and a father.
He was a beloved grandfather.
And he was happy.

He was a caring...

I remember the first time I met Alex, through his son, George. With open arms and with a warm uplifting smile, Alex gave me a hug and welcomed me. He is genuinely the most kindest and the most humblest man I've ever met. He will be missed immensely.

I new Mr Gitchev and his family and he is a wonderful man with a kind heart, I had many discussions with him and he helped me through a hard time. My prayers go out to his family. I am so sorry for your loss

Although I have not met Mr Gitchev, I was a student of Bulgarian at DLI and have outstanding memories of that time of my life. I have the feeling that, had I known Mr. Gitchev, those memories would have been even stronger
