Alexander "Alex" Greer III
White River Junction, VT - Alexander "Alex" Greer lll, 61 passed away peacefully, with his mother and sister by his side, on May 31st, 2024 at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative Care in Lebanon,New Hampshire.
Alex was born on May 29, 1963, in St. Johnsbury,Vermont the son of Alexander Greer Jr. and Bonnie (Butson) Reynolds and grew up in Springfield, Vermont.
Alex graduated from Springfield High School in 1981, and then attended Vermont Technical College in Randolph, Vermont where he was enrolled in the Agricultural program.
From an early age, Alex had a great love for farm life. He worked on his grandparents dairy farm in Bradford,Vermont and the Dutton Farm in Springfield,Vermont.
He then began his career working for the Town of Springfield,Vermont and later served as the Chief Water Operator for many years.
One of his greatest passions was spending time on his boat fishing. He and his trusty dog "Duke" would spend many weekends camping and fishing on Lake Dunmore. He enjoyed sharing his love of fishing with his friends and family and looked for any opportunity he could to take them out on his boat.
Alex loved the outdoors. Spending time maple sugaring, wood working, gardening and cheering on his favorite New England sports teams. Many nights he would call his mom when the Celtics were playing, and they would critique almost every play.
In 1991, his daughter Kirstie Kathleen Rose Greer was born. He loved his daughter very much, and now they are reunited in a peaceful place.
He was predeceased by his daughter Kirstie Greer, Father Alexander Greer Jr. and Stepfather John Reynolds.
Survivors include his mother Bonnie Reynolds, his sister Tami (Don)Thomas, nieces and nephews; Greer (Ethan) Brown their daughters Adley and Emery, Taylor (Alexander) Lavanovich their sons Luca and Aven, Reigan Thomas, Calen Thomas, his friend Penny Crowley and family and his loving 4 legged companion "Tessa". Many Aunts,Uncles and Cousins.
The Family wishes to extend their gratitude to the wonderful staff and care providers of the Dartmouth Health Center and the Jack Byrne Center.
There will be a private family burial service at the McIndoe Falls Cemetery in Barnet, Vermont.
Arrangements are under the care of the Chadwick Funeral Home in New London, New Hampshire.

When you raise your kids you hope they hang around with good people. Alex was one of our son’s good friends. They weren’t angels but they were truly decent kids. Alan and our whole family are so sorry about his passing. We send our love to Bonnie, Tammi and Donny.
