Not sure what to say?

I miss my father-law Alex. Yes, he was quite a character. Just wish that he had been around longer so that I could have gotten to know him better. Jim Belt, son-in law

It is now the first of October, and we at Stoneridge Court just heard of the death of Alex. We all enjoyed and profited by his presence among us.

He will be missed.

I'm sorry to hear Al (Popoo) has pass away, He will be truely missed by my family and myself. He was my father for many years and helped mold me into the man I am today. Many times over the years I've called him to tell him Thank You for all he had done for me and to tell him how much I loved him. I'm looking forward to seeing him in heaven.

Popoo, as some of you know...was the best grandfather and only father figure in my life. I will always remember his songs, his humor, and the trips for orange icecream. I am grateful to have had him in my life.
His silly songs are being passed down to my little girl..as they will always be in my memories.

I like this poem he wrote. It helps.

End of the Game

Had another birthday, the Big Eight-four,
and got to wondering, how many more?

It occurred to me,...

I was fortunate to have Al in my life as my step-father during my wild days. He was a great guy and wonderful to me, getting involved in my life and always lending a helping hand. I have fond memories of him helping me repair one of the first boats I ever owned - it was a project boat. He came over to my house and spent a few days helping me fix it up. We had a wonderful time, working, smiling, and laughing together on that boat. He was a pleasure to be around.

I have and always will consider "Popoo" a very important part of my family. He was my grandfather...if not by blood..by heart. He was my only father figure growing up..and for that I am grateful. My prayers are with his family at this time. His songs he sang to me as a little girl are being carried on to my little girl. I am hoping that he gets his wish of being reincarnated into a race horse. His sense of humor and his poetry help at this time for me. God Bless.

Jim and I are sorry to hear Al passed away. We will have fond memories of him when he was part of our family.

Alex participated in the Arthritis Aquatics class(es) and "Senior Scribbler's" writing class(es) I teach at Trillium Place. He was a "joy" to be around, and I loved hearing the stories he had written! In the Aquatics class, he gave one of our exercises a nickname, "kick butt", which I continue to use!

My prayers and sympathy are with Alex's family. I surely will miss him!

We will certainly miss Alex's smile and friendly disposition. He always was upbeat and loved to sing! We were blessed to have him be a part of our Trillium Place Family.
