This is a picture of my 10th birthday party. I'm at the head of the table in the blue shirt, and just to my left is Alex, as my best friend. Unfortunately, his face is not clearly visible because it's blocked by another friend's head.

I considered Alex to be my best friend in grade school, PS-90 in Richmond Hill Queens, NYC. His nickname for me, which he always referred to me by, was "Vulcan" because I loved Star Trek and Mr. Spock. I'm sad to have just learned that he passed away 10 years ago. From his bio, I see he lived a full and accomplished life.
