Not sure what to say?

My heartfelt condolences to Alex's family.

Sadly, I just found out of his passing now when searching for him when I my e-mail bounced.

Alex and I published a good number of papers together over the last decade (the last one just early this year) on his favourite topic: the red-lines (electronic excitations) in ruby which happens to be my favourite topic too.
Although I never met Alex in person, I feel that I knew him very well since we had endless debates over scientific...

Beloved by family, admired by colleagues, a renowned scholar and fascinating conversationalist, Alex will be missed, but never forgotten by those who were fortunate enough to have known him. His unique way of looking at the world will live on through everyone he inspired and challenged. Our love to Terry, Frank, Dorothy, Susan, Eleanor and John.

John & the whole Szabo family,
We are so sorry to learn of your loss.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you,
Paddi & Veronica O'Hara

So Sorry for your loss. I learned after the fact, he was gone. I just was thinking recently that I can't wait to see him to ask him about the latest is quantum computers. he will be missed

I was greatly saddened to learn that Alex had died. He was one of the first people I met when I came to the National Research Council as a summer employee in 1959. Our paths crossed again when I returned to NRC in 1965, and a few years later when I had the pleasure of working with him for several months He was an outstanding physicist and one of the founders of laser science in Canada. He will be missed by many NRC friends and colleagues, particularly the morning coffee group in building...

My heartfelt condolences to Terry and the family. Alex was certainly dedicated to his project work at NRC. I remember a time when he enjoyed a period of fly-fishing in the streams near Ottawa. Not to be forgotten is his agreement to act as my Best Man long ago in 1956 when I marries Maureen.

Eleanor, Karimand I are so sorry for your loss. As a physicist, I know your Dad would want you to remember the first law of thermodynamics. Energy can never be created or destroyed. His energy will always be with you and lives forever in the cosmos. Wishing you strength and comfort in the days ahead.....Heather and Karim

Dear Eleanor,
I am so sad to hear this news.
An exemplary life, realized in a loving family.
My condolences to you, you brother and sisters, and your mom.
