ANSONIA: Alexander Weiler, age 85, entered into eternal rest on June 12, 2021 in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Margaret “Peggy” Millard Weiler.
Alexander was born in Russia on September 9, 1935, son of the late Otto Weiler and Klara Helber Romach. He was a resident of Ansonia since 1976. Alexander was employed as a Computer Operations Manager for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford. Following his retirement from Sikorsky, he was employed part time at Langanke’s Florist in Shelton. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Alexander’s hobbies included playing golf and fishing. He also enjoyed soccer and volleyball.
In addition to his wife Margaret, he leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Alexander Weiler Jr. (Claudia) of Shelton, David Weiler (Laura Cosgrove) of Bridgeport, Christian Weiler (Kelly) of Seymour and Andrew Weiler (Jaimie) of Ansonia, daughters, Diana McClean (Kenneth) of Stratford and Gretchen Ovesny (Brian Schechter) of Cheshire, a brother, Walter Motorny (Jean) of Shelton, grandchildren, David Weiler II (Melissa), Nicholas Weiler (Carol), Michael McClean, Joseph McClean, Natalya Weiler, Daniel Mascolo Jr., Alexandra Weiler, Zachary Weiler, Cole Ovesny and Maya Weiler, great-granddaughter, Aubrey Weiler and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Wednesday June 16, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Masks are required for entry. On Thursday, all are welcome to attend his funeral service at 10:00 am, at the funeral home, with Reverend Jeffrey Gubbiotti officiating. Interment with U.S. military honors will immediately follow at Mount St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby. Contributions in Alexander’s name may be made directly to Autism Services and Resources Connecticut, 101 North Plains Industrial Road, Wallingford, CT 06492.
