Not sure what to say?

Al was always a warm, friendly and generous spirit. We worked with him in the 1980s at Clancy-Paul. I'm sorry that he passed at such a young age. To Al's family, many of us remember Al fondly.

Dearest Al, as autumn approaches and the leaves begin to change colors, I think of you. I miss you every day. I miss the way you could think things through, but I miss your heart and humor the most. Thank you for your kind, insightful, encouring, and of course, hilarious words. I will never forget you and carry you in my heart forever.

I knew Al professionally and socially for some 30 years. He retained me to represent Amper when it created its investment advisor affiliate and to represent him in connection with the restructuring following the merger with Eisner. He was demanding, meticulous; unfailingly curious and courteous. The world will not be as colorful without him. Peter D. Hutcheon, Norris, McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A.

Our heartfelt condolences to Mr Mattia's entire family. He was a wonderful man and always a pleasure when he came to visit us. We will miss him greatly. All our love Carlo and Harriet , Al dente Restaurant Piscataway

My condolences to Robert and all of Al's family. Al and I grew up together in Newark and were close friends. Many happy memories.

Our most sincere condolences to Al's entire family. We had wonderful, fun times with him and the gang at Columbia High. There are so many memories that we will always hold dear. Al "fixed us up" on our first date, and here we are 48 yrs. later. So happy we spent time with him at our last CHS reunion. Too young, too soon Allie. You will be missed.

Min and I very much enjoyed dinner and a show in NYC with "Uncle Al". Our condolences to the Mattia family.

Working with Al (as a consultant for APM's Profit Sharing Plan) for 17 years was a joy I won't forget. The autonomy he permitted me, his confidence in my judgement, and his unflagging geniality through the toughest markets made him a unique and endearing boss. Because we were on opposite coasts, we communicated mainly by telephone, so when I came back east each year, I always looked forward to our annual three hour lunch at Al's favorite restaurant as a highlight of the trip. I will miss him.
