I would like to pause to thank God for allowing me to know a great man. A man of great capacity and who was willing to help his fellowman in good and bad times alike. To have know Al Freeman was to know a true man of God. May God continue to bless his family and God rest his soul.

I knew Al as a tireless fighter for Anacostia. We worked together on several committees and in the Anacostia Garden Club. He was dedicated and determined to make a difference. He stood up and spoke out for what he knew to be right. He was friendly, generous and loved his family. And always, he smiled. I see it even now. We will miss him.

To the Family of Al Freeman, I was deeply sadden when I heard of the passing of Al. I offer my deepest and heartfelt sympathy to you. I remember so well his friendly smile and soft voice at the meetings of the Anacostia Garden Club. He surely will be missed greatly. I take comfort in believing that he is enjoying the beautiful Gardens of Heaven. May God Bless and keep you during this difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a great man. I remember Al when I first came to live here in Anacostia(on U Street in 1987). Whenever I was at community meetings and he alwasys had a warm welcome for me. He really loved his comunity and wanted to make it better for those of us who lived here. He is truly missed!

I have been sitting here at work continuing to pray for you and your family and remembering. As your friend and brother in Christ I will always remember the times shared with your father in our youth. Real simple occasions where he gave words of encouragement and that smile made one feel like everything would be fine. Yes, he will be missed. For those of us who he touched, we will continue to enjoy the blessing of him in our hearts looking forward to seeing him again.

Goodbye to a model member and our sympathy to his family. Everyone Al touched has an asset in their lives. We are going to miss his smile and soft voice that always said what can I do to help, do you need anything else? What a blessing to have known Al Freeman.

To everything and everyone there is a season, God allowed your father's season to come now and end his pain and suffering. The word of God lets us know that to be absence from the Body is to be present with the Lord. Take comfort in knowing that he is with God and the pain is no more. You're in our prayers.
