Alfonzo Borom Sr. departed this life on November 17, 2022. Al, as he was often referred was a 1967 graduate of Edison High School where he was a member of the varsity basketball team. Al served in the United states Army from 1969 to 1971 and fought in the Vietnam War. Al was employed at BP Oil Refinery (formerly Amoco Standard Oil) in Whiting Indiana, where he retired in 2007 with 31 years of service.


 


Alfonzo Borom Sr. was proceeded in death by his son Toure' Borom; parents Champ and Selfie Lee Borom; three brothers Willie Wallace, John Sr. and Carlos Borom & one sister, Bettye Levy; three paternal uncles, six maternal aunts & two maternal uncles.


 


Alfonzo Borom, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Alesha Borom, two sons, Alfonzo (Renee) Borom Jr. and Oveire Borom; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren; three sisters, Guster Borom (who served as his caregiver), Annie R. Hall and Lovetta Gibson & one brother, Eddie (Barbara) Borom & sister-in-law, Bettye Borom; 13 nieces and nephews, 23 grandnieces and grandnephews, nine great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews and a host of cousins & several acquaintances.
