Not sure what to say?

I was his driver at Ft Knox Ky for 6 months or so in 1981 as I remember now. He made a powerful impression on me as a young pfc. It didn´t matter what the situation was or magnitude of the issue he was facing I could see in his eyes or the expression on his face that he was working it out and that the resolution was imminent. Miss his calm demeanor and knowledge. Probably the best officer I ever served under.

Single Memorial Tree

I still think about Colonel Baker a lot. The best boss I ever worked for and a very special person in my life.

Always, always thankful for what he did for Berlin Community.

Dear family Baker. I am very sorry about the loss of Col. Alfred Baker. I have col. Baker met at the Berlin Brigade in Berlin. He drove my horse at the German American Frereundschaftstag (Trotting Course Mariendorf) and finished third. he was a great man, i will carry the memory of him forever in my heart.

RIP

Dear Family Baker,
I have just learned of her husband's death, father's.
I also knew in Berlin (Germany) was Stationed your man as he, I have worked for the time German Guard (6941st Guard Battalion) on Lucius D. Clay Headquarters and Harnack House and was designed by your man for
BBQ invited with my wife at the Harnack House and this I will never forget. He was a great officer.

My condolences to the family

I will forever regret that I did not contact him sooner just to hear his voice. He was a hard boss to work for but the most solid, consistent, fair, strong and the best human being I have ever known. I had the best government service years under him in Berlin from 1991-1994. Thank you, Mrs. Baker, for standing next to this great man!

Dear Joan and the Children: I served as Al's Forward Observer in 1967-68. I loved this guy and he gave me so much courage. He was the best. Keep Up the Fire Jeff Dossett, Summerville, SC

I, too, worked at Fort Jackson as COL Baker's secretary. I just Googled his name and his obituary came up. Dear Joan, I am so sorry he is gone. I always thought he was so much fun that you had to be laughing all the time.
My heart goes out to you. Laura Freeman
