The Nunley prayers go out to Dorothy Nell Best, son Todd Best, daughters Anissa Best, Valencia Best and Zane Hughes; brother Richard "Lavon" Best and wife Pamala, sister Dolores Ann Gill and husband Edgar-we will truly miss you..

I would like to give my condolences to the Best family during this difficult time. I had the pleasure of Teaching/Coaching with Coach Best for a couple of years. I really enjoyed Al always making me laugh with his stories growing up and just always being helpful to me at all times. I enjoyed the breakfast tacos that we would get every Friday and how he would always talk about his wife and how he was looking forward to retiring and moving back home to Del Rio. You will be missed dearly my...

I offer my deepest sympathies to the family of Al Best. I recently met Mr. Best, along with his wife, Dorothy, and one of his daughters when they attended my father, Lawrence Powell's, celebration of life gathering last May. I had the pleasure of speaking to him about his time playing football for Del Rio High
School. He was a warm and friendly man, and very kind and respectful to me and my family. It was an honor for us to meet the man who our father had held in such high regard as a...

My condolences to Dorothy and Coach's family. I am saddened by the loss of a dear friend. He will be sincerely missed! I enjoyed his friendship as I began my coaching career with Coach at Rhodes Middle school in 1992 and again in 2006 at Foster Elementary. I laugh when I recall many of his stories of growing up in Del Rio and surrounding areas and the fun we had working as a team. He will be missed but not forgotten. May God bless his family and his beloved Del Rio!

I'd like to share my condolences with Mr. Best's family. I was fortunate to meet Mr. Best and his wife, Dorothy, and one of their daughters back in May at my father, Lawrence Powell's Celebration of Life gathering. Mr. Best was such a nice man and it was truly a pleasure getting to talk to him about his time when he played football at Del Rio High School. I was so impressed with his warm and friendly personality,
and that he and his family made the trip to San Antonio to attend my...

My condolences to the Best Family. I was deeply saddened to hear last night about Al's passing. My family was honored that he attended my father's Life Celebration in May. I greatly enjoyed visiting with Al...especially since I worshiped him as a kid. Those who had the privilege of knowing Al, are aware that he was a tremendous athlete and a wonderful man. He will be truly missed. I hope he has an opportunity to stop by in Heaven and visit with my father...Coach Powell would really...

To the family of Alfred Best our deepest sympathy to the Best family members. Remembering the talks we had on travels to A & I University
( Texas A & M Kingsville ). Al you succeeded in obtaining many of your life goals. Remembering you as we grew up in Chihuahua neighborhood.

I was younger than Al, but remember him as being a very nice guy in school. His passing is a great loss to all of us. My condolences and best wishes to the entire family. Rhonda Morgan (Kyle) Lepisto

May Al rest in peace. I was honored to have him as my teammate in 1959. He was great and will be greatly missed by all.
