I knew Alfred mostly through you and your wonderful stories, Donna, but when we saw Alfred he was always kind and considerate, and we could sense his deep love of his family. My favorite family memory of Alfred is some years ago when we were all vacationing in Lake Tahoe. We decided to entertain the kids by renting a pedal driven surrey that held Alfred, Donna and I and 3 kids. I was the driver and when I misunderstood the direction of a biker behind us and sent him cursing off the path, Alfred let out a belly laugh I will remember forever. It was a moment we giggled about for many years thereafter. Rest in peace, Alfred.
