Not sure what to say?

Dr. Carter helped me immeasurably during the two-and-a-half years we spent together, an hour each week. The time period was late 1970's, and I believe Dr. Carter was in the early years of his private practice in Springfield when I entered therapy with him. We were both in our 30's with much of our lives ahead of us at the time. I'm afraid that I was quite self-absorbed in that period, and I have always regretted stopping treatment abruptly in 1980. I had somewhat wistfully intended to contact...

Dr Carter,

Thank you for your wisdom and knowledge. You will be missed. My prayers and thoughts go out to Mrs Carter and family.

...his little "secret" smile, his quick wit, the way he'd spring out of his chair like a jack-in-the-box, in contrast to his calm wisdom & his ability to see -- and convey -- the larger picture. All this will be missed. My condolances to Al's Family, in hopes that knowing how many of us were touched by him makes remembering him the sweeter.

I always appreciated Al's balance and perspective. He was not one to make a lot of noise, but when he spoke, it was always a thoughtful comment. Also, he always showed up and did his work. I'm sure he was that way not only in his work, but with his family. We will all miss him, but benefited greatly from knowing him.

Al always had a quiet inner strength and a ready smile. He showed his love and concern for others through his actions. He served his nation, his community, his patients and his family with distinction. I am proud of my brother.

My condolences to the family of Dr. Carter. He was truly a one-of-a-kind doctor and he will be missed. I never got the opportunity to say "goodbye" and extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the success we achieved together.

My condolences to the family of Dr. Carter. When I worked at Mass Rehab, I always looked forward to Friday morning consultations with Dr. Carter. He taught me a lot, we had fun and he always enjoyed his quick breads with lots of nuts. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

My deepest sympathies go out to Mrs. Carter and daughters. Dr. Carter helped me so much. He was always so kind and understanding, and made me laugh on many occasions. The last time I saw him I laughingly said "Have I driven you to retirement?" He just laughed, and I wished him the best of good luck and happiness in Hawaii. He was a kind man, and I will miss him.

To the family of Dr. Carter -
My deepest sympathies are with all of you at this time. He dedicated his life to helping others, and I truly don't know where I would be today without his guidance. He always had an abundant supply of tissues for tears, and tic tacs for dry mouths. He had a wonderful sense of humor, often making me erupt with laughter. He will be sadly missed by me always. Hawaii IS Heaven, and I know he is there. Again, my very deepest and heartfelt sympathies are with you.
