Not sure what to say?

Lise,
My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. I had only known Al for a year, and yet he had become a close friend, and mentor. We meet on the Chinese history forum and discovered that we had common interests in Architecture and Chinese philosophy. His enthusiastic encouragement, and belief in my unpolished abilities not only helped me succeed in a difficult task, but encouraged me to try other things that I would never have thought possible to attempt. His humor and wisdom...

I am so sorry to hear of Al's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Al on the McAllister Middle School project in Suffield, several years back. He commanded respect from the people around him and gave it back to them as well. The construction industry has suffered an irreplaceable loss. It was my honor to work with him.

My deepest sympathies. I was very sorry to hear of Al's passing. I met him years ago as a young environmental consultant dealing with some issues at a school project. His guidance and intelligent oversight solved the problems and it was a great learning experience for me. He became a trusted mentor, ally and friend over the years. I could always count on him to help analyze situations and problems, and the outcomes were always as he predicted. Al was always patient, courteous and prompt and...

To the family of Mr Casella:

I extend my deepest condolences as the co-administrator of the Chinese forum Mr Casella frequented. Although I never knew him in person, his wise, warm, fatherly tone and extensive knowledge in various fields quickly gained my deep respect and admiration.

That he is so missed by members of an online forum speaks volumes about Mr Casella's character and personality.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Al's passing. I had a tremendous respect for his knowledge and his caring attitude. I know he will be missed by all his family and friends.

I am sure he is God's good hands!

Mr. Casella's Daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, is my niece. I love her and know she is saddened by Mr. Casella's passing. I am so proud to call her husband, Mr. Casella's son Joe, a member of my family. I was privileged to meet Mr. Casella the weekend of Joe and Elizabeth's wedding. Ironically, I had just lost my father Tuesday of that same week. It was a difficult week for me but I found comfort in the joy that was the wedding. I spoke with Mr. Casella several times that weekend and found him to...

Ray,

My deepest sympathies, I did not know Al well, however he was a special man that made an impression on me whenever I stopped in the office- seemed that he could speak on a high level about any topic you threw at him.

Auntie Lise & the Casellas,

I am thinking of you all and will miss Uncle Al dearly. All of the beautiful buildings in Spain remind me of him and I wish that I could be there with you. Sending my love.

Lise and the Casella family ,
I am so sorry about your loss. Al was a great guy. We always had a great time talking about Chinese strategies and military history. His knowledge was fantastic. ... Al recently helped me a lot in my book on Chinese strategies. ... I am so lucky to have him as my friend and mentor. I will always remember him.
