Not sure what to say?

I waited the head table at Al Cervi's week long basketball camp held on the grounds of Camp Eagle Cove. Al and the other senior staff made my "job" too much fun with endless stories and sports trivia question challenges - Billy Hackett was almost as good as Al on those questions - and I enjoyed and learned watching their clinics. I think about him often, especially his stories about toughening up Dolph Schayes!

Kathy,
My sincere condolences to you and your family on the passing of your Dad. Although I have not lived in the Rochester area for many years, my family is still there and told about your loss when I was "home" for Thanksgiving. I am very sorry to hear the sad news.
When I think of you I remember not only BHS adventures but also getting together in the Fourth Lake area when your Dad had the basketball camp there and my family was across the Lake.
Sincerely,

Thank you Al Cervi for your life and helping to make Rochester a Pro Basketball town during the 40-s and 50's...miles burke

To the Cervi family;
Thank you so much for sharing Mr. Cervi with me and thousands of other "campers", the memories of Camp Eagle Cove and Hobart are some of the greatest times of our lives. Coach taught us many of life's lessons, especially family, committment, and most of all intensity. He had a passion for sports that he instilled in us all. He'll have God working harder soon. Bless you all. Mickey Record

To all Cervi's
What a joy and pleasure to have known Al since 1954. A wonderful family man and husband. True to himself and to everyone he asociated with over the years. A wonderful sense of humor and compassion for people. His competitive nature was summed up in Goerge Mikan's book which he was quoted "I would rather beat Cervi than eat."
Thanks for the cherised memories Al. And all the best to all you Cervi's who adored him.

Marcia and family,
I am so sorry to hear of your father's death. I will not be in town this week and will miss the service. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Sincerely,
Karen Emerson

Mrs. Cervi,

I remember all the times that you and Mr. Cervi would come to our home to visit and the times we came to your house. We always felt special whenever we saw you and Mr. Cervi. He would tease us and make us laugh.

I was just thinking about Mr. Cervi yesterday before I heard the news of his passing. Please know so many people have wonderful memories of both of you together and please accept my deepest sympathy to you, your children, and grandchildren.

To All the Cervis,

We were so sorry to learn of Al's death. Just thinking of him brings back some great memories of when the boys went to Al Cervi Camp (and didn't shower all week!). We always enjoyed the time we spent with him. Miss you all!

Growing up in Syracuse, I went to all the Nats games and Al was my favorite.
Imagine how proud I was to be inducted into the Walk Of Fame with my boyhood hero! And what a great sense of humor he had.
