Not sure what to say?

I always enjoyed meeting Al at the AAASS/ASEEES conferences over the years. I had not heard about his passing and was wondering if I had missed him at the recent conference in Boston. My condolences to his friends and family. May his memory be a blessing.

My husband Tom and I send our condolences to Al's family. As a Professor of Russian History at the University of Colorado, Denver, I had the privilege of serving on ASEEES panels with Al and worked with him at Western Social Science conferences. I was honored when Al invited me to contribute an historical introduction to his highly acclaimed Russian Civil Society: A Critical Assessment. Al was a brilliant political scientist and specialist on the USSR, a talented lecturer, genial and...

I had the pleasure of being Al and Carolyn´s next door neighbor for many years. Many times I would be at the kitchen window in the early morning to see Al jog past my house. I was sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences go out to Carolyn and her family.

I send my deepest condolences to Carolyn and family. I had the pleasure of meeting Al as a member of the College Community Congregational church and always enjoyed talking to him. He was a splendid human being, I am sorry to hear of his death.

Sending condolences from the Aldags to the Evans family. Remembering Al as a very positive and learned gentleman. Always enjoyed reading his letters to the Bee.

I was fortunate enough to have had Dr. Evan´s as my instructor in a couple of courses at Fresno state, and found him to be fair, challenging, and always quick with humor. Years later, when 8 would read one of his Letters to the Editor, I would not typically agree with what he said, but I always understood his position, and his fairness. Dr. Evan´s was the type of professor every college student should have.
