WEST COLUMBIA%%Services for Alfred D. Fletcher, 62, of West Columbia, will be held at 2pm Saturday, August 13, 2005, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Rev. Lloyd Buff. Committal services will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Fletcher died Thursday, August 11, 2005. Born in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Frank V. and Elizabeth Dalrymple Fletcher. Formerly of Indianapolis, IN, he had been an area resident since 1998. Mr. Fletcher retired as Captain from the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Bronze Star, the Silver Star, and the Purple Heart. Additionally, he was the National Coordinator of Bamboo Bridge.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Fletcher of Tennessee; daughters, Darlene and Andy Crider of West Columbia, Denise Rodgers of Batesburg-Leesville; sister, Anne Reaps of Virginia; brother, Frank Fletcher of Virginia; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
