Gethers Funeral Home - Moncks Corner Obituary

Alfred Heyward Gadsden was the son of the late Eva Mae Heyward Gadsden and Fred Gadsden Jr.  He was born on February 18, 1963 in Moncks Corner, SC.  After a brief illness, he transitioned into eternal life on February 14, 2021.

Alfred, affectionately called “Alfredo”, attended school in Berkeley County. He was a 1982 graduate of Berkeley High School where he participated in the JROTC program and other extracurricular activities. He went to further his studies at Baptist College at Charleston.

Alfredo was a proud entrepreneur and the owner of Auto Tec Window Tinting. He had the pleasure of servicing customers from all over the Lowcountry. His work was one of many passions and was evident in his loyalty of returning customers.  Business was business, but he always told jokes while working to make his customers feel comfortable and at home.

Alfredo had many interests that include sports, collecting dub cars, drawing and painting. Alfred‘s favorite pastime was skating.  Growing up, on Saturday nights his favorite place to be was Stardust skating rink where he ruled the floor.  He was known for his catchy moves, skating backwards, bouncing and dancing.  When the famous skate song “Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll” by Vaughan Mason & Crew was played, he would be on the floor rocking to the beat.

Alfredo lived just shy of his 58th birthday on February 18th. He leaves to cherish the memories of his infectious smile: daughter, Kristine Polifka (Martin); a devoted and caring companion, Leonor Dalesandro; bonus daughter, Alyssa Dalesandro; grandchildren, Kevin, Khalaylla, and K’Mara; siblings,  Charles Gadsden, Bobby Gadsden (Jennifer), Earl Gadsden (Virginia), Carla Samantha Gadsden Palmer, Henry (Ricky) Gadsden, Janice Smith (Leonard), Corine Thompson (Dale), Peter Heyward, Freddie Wilson, and Elijah Wilson; and a host of aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

He  was preceded to death by James Wilson, Patricia Heyward, and Veronica Parrish.

Viewing will be Friday, February 19, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside service will be Saturday, February 20, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at Old Nazareth Cemetery, Pinopolis, SC, with viewing from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
