Al is the kind of guy I would call a hero - never boasting about all his accomplishments, just quietly going about his business and caring for his family.
We have been Al's and Robyn's neighbors for almost 12 years, but I never knew about Al's accolades as a basketball player - he was remodeling homes when we moved in, and helped us out with tips and loaned me tools when I worked on home improvement projects.

I never got to know Al as much as I would have liked, but what I did know I was always impressed and inspired. He was a gentleman an a great athelete. Al came to Northside the same year I left as a teacher. I shall continue to pray for his family. My wife, formally Norma Nunley graduated from Jefferson with him.
