Alfred Phillip Karl III, 65, of Waretown N. J. Al died July 2, 2021 at Jersey Shore medical Center after a brief illness.
Al is the father of Allison, Sara and Alfred P. Karl IV. Loving brother of Joseph, Phillip, and Susan Karl, Michael Laubauskas and Edward Karl.
Born in Newark, Alfie was raised by his late parents, Susan and Alfred P. Karl Jr. in Hillside, NJ
Alfred serviced in the United States Navy, Fighters Squandron Fourteen, From 1976 to 1980
Al was the owner of Big Al’s Transportation in Waretown for the past 10 years.
Visitation will be held at the Growney Funeral Home 1070 No. Broad St. Hillside on Thursday 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
The Funeral service will be Friday 11:00 AM at the funeral Home. Internment Hollywood Memorial Park, Union N.J.

Al Karl was a basketball teammate of mine at Hillside and one of the nicest guy I knew. My fondest memory of him is the way he would run onto the court. He had this sort of waddle with a smile. But make no mistake about, he was as tough as nails. What a greatly spirited person. Please accept my dearest condolences for the Karl family. He was and is a great guy. May he rest in Heaven.
