Alfred Keim, JR, age 85, of Nappanee, passed away at 6:59 a.m., Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Elkhart General Hospital.  He was born December 11, 1937 in Nappanee to Alfred SR and Mary (Ingle) Keim.  Alfred was a Nappanee High School graduate.  On December 14, 1957 he married Janet Rose Deter in Churubusco, IN.  She preceded him in death January 21, 2023.  Alfred had worked for Vitreous, Kinder Manufacturing and for 35 years at Selmer’s Co.    He was a lifetime area resident.  Alfred was a member of Nappanee Son’s of American Legion.  He enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing and played softball in his younger years.  Surviving is his 3 daughters, Darlene (Jim) Hill, Nappanee, Brenda (Randy) Schmucker, Etna Green, Annette (Dan) Slabaugh, Warsaw; and one son, Robert (Tina) Keim, Goshen; 9 grandchildren, Chris Keim, Jesse (Sam) Schmucker, Brooke Ward, Amy Slabaugh, Dannyjo Slabaugh, Amber Slabaugh, Alex (Gianna) Keim, Timothy (Jenna) Keim, Christian Pfeiffer; 18 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia (Dave) Leichtman, Arizona. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Keim.  Graveside service will take place at 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Union Center Cemetery.  Pastor Jason Rohde, of Nappanee Missionary Church, will officiate.  Memorial contributions in Alfred’s name can be given to Nappanee Son’s of American Legion Post 154 or Heart to Heart Hospice.  Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
