I was saddened to read of Al's passing but am thrilled to read this in-depth obit! It brought me even closer to the family. I remember staying @ Al & Gert's house for some days when my youngest sister was born. There were some complications so I may have stayed a week or two. I was only 4 but remember vividly sitting @ the piano with Gert; listening to Puff the Magic Dragon & Mary Poppins songs. ( on record player, I would guess); and having a visit to see Erik who was staying @ Holochs. ...
