Alfred S. Margevich

Mr. Margevich (I would NEVER think to call him "Al", even behind his back!)has always been a "bigger than life" symbol of what a Dad should be. I was always included in whatever his children were doing with love and care. Often times he scared all of us, but, his care and protection were always appreciated, after the fact. "Father knows best" often described him. He always made time for us-what a neat man. I will miss him. How lucky we all are to have known him.

So many friends and family have shared their "Big Al" stories. And as one of my dearest friends said "he was bigger than life". My Dad opinionated, verbose, irascible and at times maddening. He was passionate in what he believed and he valued his family. He taught me to play to win. Most of all Dad was a presence-he did not shrink from life. I will miss him.

Good bye dad. Take care and we'll continue to eat our vegetables every day.
