To The Mattera Family,
I am sorry for your pain and loss. I know heaven is a little richer for Dr. Mattera is there now. I know he will look out for all of you until you all meet again. He was my doctor from 1963 until his retirement and he held my hand with my 3rd child because he was supposed to deliver him but he wrapped the cord around his neck and I needed an emergency c-section..but he took care of all 4 of my children util they married..His pride is his own children was quiet...

Mattera Family:

You are in our thoughts and prayers in this time of sorrow. We have enjoyed getting to know you in Ocean City over the past several years, and wish we had the opportunity to get to know the doctor better. From the guestbook entries, he was a remarkable man

OUR WHOLE FAMILY IS HONORED TO HAVE KNOWN THIS WONDERFUL MAN. HE TOOK CARE OF MY GRANDMOTHER,MY MOM &DAD, MY HUSBAND & I, HE DELIVERED ALL THREE OF MY CHILDREN AND WAS MY GRANDOUGHTER'S PEDIATRICIAN. I ALSO REMEMBER THE GREEN FALCON PULLING INTO THE YARD FOR THE NUMEROUS HOUSE CALLS TO OUR HOUSE.

HE DETECTED MY BREAST CANCER 23 YEARS AGO, AND I'M STILL HERE TO TELL THE STORIES. FOR THAT WE WILL ALWAYS BE GREATFUL TO HIM. GOD BLESS YOU ALL IN THIS MOST...

To the Mattera Family;

I want personaly extend my sympathy to you all. Although I do not have the personal intimacy that Nancy has with all of you, I've always admired your family's relationships and Christian values. Your write up of Al and family life and accompany photographs is one of the most poignant descriptions of an ideal life that I have ever read.
You are truly blessed as Al will always be with you.

Today, August 7th 2010, my Father’s 86th Birthday Toast
Every year Dad tells me that his birthday cake will be a fire hazard. Yet we still celebrate. Every year he tells me he is getting too old for birthdays and yet we ignore his words and deny that he will ever pass. Every year Dad says he doesn’t want gifts because his gift was giving. You see having you in our lives Dad is a cause for everlasting celebration.
We don’t like to forget our father’s birthday because he...

Dear Crawford Family,

We are so sorry for your loss of a dad and granddad. Our prayers are with you during this time of grieving. Reading through what others have shared, he is leaving a tremendous legacy with his family and those his life touched.

Dear Mattera Family
I had the privilege of working with Dr. Mattera at Kennedy Care Center when I was a Medical Assistant. I witnessed first hand his compassion, caring, and the genuine love he had for the patients in his practice. He knew them all on a professional and personal level.
I was truly fascinated by his path from Pharmacy to Medical school while he had a family. He was much better suited for the healing hand of a Physician.
He was very supportive of my desire for...

Dear Mattera Family,
I was a Medical Assistant at Kennedy Care Center and had the privilege of working with Dr. Mattera. I witnessed his compassion and genuine love for his patients first hand. I am now a Nurse Practitioner and have met countless physicians, and Dr. Mattera was the most kind and compassionate of all.
He was so supportive of my desire for higher education when I was studying for my undergraduate degree. I was fascinated by his path from Pharmacy to Medical School...

Joanna and family,
Please accept my sincere sympathy on Al's passing. I know how difficult it was for you to let him go and I will keep you all in my prayers as you get through this difficult time. Be assured that he will always hold a special place in my heart. He was a great boss, mentor, colleague and friend who truly possessed a gentle spirit and an incredible faith. Rest in peace, Al.
