Not sure what to say?

Al and I have been friends since ACCHS.....I am so shocked and sad at learning of his passing......one special guy.........your legacy of music will always be a part of my life.....Fly high and free, my dear friend....

Al took me under his wing during the year I was in the Tammies. Over the years, he would call to chat or send letters and musical gifts. He was a great friend who brought joy.

A total shock to hear of Al's passing. A close friend from kindergarten till this time. An extremely talented musician who has given so much for the preservation of ethnic music everywhere. I will truly miss him as he was like part of the family. My sincere condolences to his mom Theresa.

So sorry to hear about Al's passing. I remember many Saturday nights when my parents took us to Stangl's Tavern for polkas. Skeeter, Walt and the rest kept them dancing and returning for more. It was a great time to visit uncles and cousins. I remember Al at Central Catholic and the music class as well as the choral group. Practicing for the Christmas show and the Musical.
My prayers for Theresa and the family. We lost a great musician.

Rest in Peace Al. You will be missed.

So sorry for your loss. Al was a great musician that we had the pleasure of knowing and calling our friend, he played on several occasions for us. We talked lots of times about baking and making various sausages, you will be missed, RIP !!!!Karoline, Kilian and Family

I'm shock by this loss, I just gave him a haircut at his home and he seemed to be doing so good. It's sad that somebody so known for his music was totally forgotten by his kids there's more but I'll stop there. God Bless and Rest In Peace

Al and his music were a staple in the Lehigh Valley culture where I grew up.....a huge influence in the music I learned and played in my youth and still today. I have nostalgic memories of placing his and his family's records on my Dad's juke boxes in the Austrian-American clubs and establishments throughout the region. It's hard to accept and grapple with the fact of Al's passing. My sincere condolences to his family and to his fellow musicians.

Al helped teach my father to play the button box, I remember their practice sessions in our living room back in the 70's. He passed away last year, so much polka talent has left us in the past couple decades.
