Sadler Suess Funeral Home - Telford Obituary

Alfred L. Myers, Jr., 85, of Telford, PA, passed away on September 9, 2024 at Belle Terrace Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Quakertown, PA.

He and his loving wife, Joan (Christman) Myers, recently celebrated 66 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Alfred was a son of the late Alfred L. Myers, Sr. and Mary (Oshinski) Myers.

Alfred graduated from Northeast Catholic High School in Philadelphia.  He was a member of the Carpenters Union of Philadelphia for sixty years, proudly working mostly for F.W. Woolworth Company.

The most meaningful part of Alfred’s life was his family, whom he loved very much.  He also had many hobbies and interests which included playing golf, salt-water fishing, and tinkering in the garage, particularly on his 1952 Pontiac, 1932 Model A, and 1939 Ford Coupe.  He was a member of the Delaware Valley Antique Car Club where he could display his masterpieces.  Alfred loved taking trips down the shore to Wildwood, NJ and Lewes, DE.  In his spare time, Alfred enjoyed riding his golf cart around the yard, going to flea markets, yard sales and auctions, and helping neighbors.

In addition to his wife, Alfred is survived by three children: Joanne Mayberry and her husband Michael of Schwenksville, PA, Daniel Myers of Perkasie, PA, and Alfred L. Myers III and his wife Theresa of Perkiomenville, PA.  He is also survived by three sisters; Barbara Kravnick (Dennis) of Bensalem, PA, Maryellen Perrucci (Tony) of Philadelphia, PA, and Kathleen Foy (Edward) of Philadelphia, PA, two grandchildren; Angela Monappella (Mike) and Samantha Myers, and one great-grandchild; Maci Monappella.

Alfred is preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Kelly.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions can be made in Alfred’s name to Alzheimer’s Association, https://www.alz.org/

Arrangements are by Sadler-Suess Funeral Home & Crematory, Telford, PA.
