Not sure what to say?

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Al Nielsen. I first met him in 1961 when I was a missionary in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario and he was stationed at Kincheloe AFB across the river. I have had a few associations with him since and found him to be a good friend with a great sense of humor. I was a docent at the Church Museum at the same time he was. I'll miss him, as I know many, many people will.

Dear Lucy and family,

We just learned on Sunday that Alf had passed away. What a tremendous loss to all of us who knew and loved him.
Earl and I have had the wonderful opportunity to get to know both Alf and Lucy since the summer of 1998. During that summer, we visited Salt Lake City for the purpose of doing genealogy research at the LDS Family History Library. Since my maiden name was Siersma, I knew that my grandfather’s sister Martje had immigrated to Utah, married Sieger...

It has been a pleasure to be associated with Alfred Nielsen over the years. I first met him when he was a patient at Bryner Clinic and in later years as he served as an ordinance worker in the Temple. He has always been cheerful and gentle and kind. May the comfort of the Gospel and plan of happiness bring you peace and comfort at this time.

Brother Alf is one of a kind. We will miss seeing him on Sunday at church and shaking his hand. If we weren't at the door to greet him, he would always walk to wherever we were just to make us feel special . . . and we did! What an example of enduring to the end in righteousness! What a blessing he was in our lives. We love him dearly. We love you, too, Lucy and our prayers continue to be with you. There aren't adequate words to describe our feelings for both of you.

I learned today of the passing of Alfred Nielsen. I was the recipient of his unending and willing service, always given with a smile and a wink. I worked closed with Alfred during the six years I served as bishop in the Grant 5th ward. Hw was intrumental in mentoring me as the Ward Clerk and in providing sustained and wonderful support. Lucy was equally delightful and exceptional. Your family has been well led, instructed and perfected. We have a daughter who grew up with Carl & Liz' and...

He was obviously a good parent. He helped raise a wonderful daughter. We all love Marion very much. I'm sorry he had to go so soon, but I know he is right now building a fabulous house for all his loved ones up above. I hope you can feel all the love and support we are sending your way!

He was a great example to my kids. I'm sure he will be missed and was loved by many. Hugs to Lucy

Rob Lisa and family,
We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. We have so many memories of him cheering the boys on while playing basketball. I always loved talking with him in Harmons.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers, We hope that the Lord will wrap his arms around you and bless you during this difficult time. We love you and cherish the memories of the times we spent together.
Chase and Jon, We love you like our own and want you to know that we are...
