Not sure what to say?

I grew up attending St. Phillips and my parents, Lucy and Quaddy Jones, sang in the choir. I joined them singing when I was in high school and I admired and loved Mr. Pinckney for his kindness, gentleness, smile, and beautiful voice. I was especially moved to hear him sing in The Crucifixion each Good Friday. Many years later I was delighted when our paths crossed when he was the one my husband chose to handle our insurance. He was the same Alfred Pinckney in character I had known in the 50´s...

Dearest Julianna, my heart is with you and your precious family as you grieve your loss of your beloved Alfred. I know the memories of your beautiful life together will give you comfort in the days ahead. Sending much love, Jamie Young McCulloch

I have always admired Alfred as one of the last remaining "pure life insurance statesmen"! He was a knowledgeable agent & was dedicated to serving his clients and their family´s best interest! Alfred Pinckney - Dedicated husband, father, church, community & industry servant! Well done, Alfred! Jimmy Hutto New York Life Retired A life well done!

Alfred and I are both alumni of the High School of Charleston although he was 6 years ahead of me. I knew his beautiful Juliana from school. But, I knew Alfred best through his nieces, Mary "Blossom" Pinckney and Margaret...such precious friends. My favorite memories of Alfred will always be the many concerts I attended over the years of the wonderful Charleston Men's Chorus!!! I had several dear friends who were members but I'm proud that Alfred was the founder!! What a gift to Charleston!!...

I am sorry to hear this. He was a neighbor of my mother downtown. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and all of their friends. May they find peace at this difficult time.

Dear Alfred, always the Southern gentleman, was so very kind and thoughtful. He was a life-long friend of our family's and his dear Mother, Harriet, was very close to my Mother, Ellen. He left a very cherished legacy which will continue on through his and Juliana's precious children and grandchildren. I respected and liked him tremendously. Praying for his family, that they're comforted knowing he's in Jesus' loving arms now.

Julianna and Alfred was a life long friend. Julianna and her family were neighbors in Charleston. I am 82, and that was a long time ago. I remember going fishing with Alfred on the lakes of Long Point before it became a housing development it became a housing development. He was my Insurance agent for more than 40+ years. I will miss him. Greaton Sellers
