Read MoreI met Fred when I was stationed overseas in Germany. Based on my military background he vetted me into China Post 1. We became great acquaintances after that first meeting. On one of Fred's return trips to Europe we shared a bottle of Louis IVX Cognac. After a few nights of drinking we finished the bottle. It was with great sadness I heard about his passing a few years back.

I met Fred so many years ago through a friend, Barbara Stroud. He was a cheerful person who I stayed in touch with for a lot of years...He autographed his book for me...I cherish it and Fred as he was my friend.
