Dad,
We talked daily4, 5, 6 times...sometimes about NOTHING. I am so confused right now, and lost,to say the least. I know that you can recieve my prayers....and I pray that you send me the answers to the question marks that I have in regards to your passing. Send me answers that will help the void that I have in my life, and fill the empty feeling that I have in my chest. I love you. You will always be with me. Rest peacefully dad, you are with the heavenly father, your birth father,...

The Merriwether family would like to extend our condolences and prayers to the shields family. This is a terrible loss. I met Alfred Shields only one time when his son Gip, (as we call him), was in the hospital earlier this year. I can tell from his smile that he was a pleasant person. I am sure Alfred Shields will be greatly missed. Gip I am so sorry for your loss and Kiara's loss of opportunity to get to know her grandfather.

To the family of Alfred Shields Jr.:
We would like to extend our sympathy to you, and let you know we sincerely share your feelings of loss.

My memories of Alfred will always be of someone kind, respectful and down to earth.Because of his kind demeanor he was one of the many people from the old Hanover Housing days, that I had a bond with as if he was family. My mother who is now deceased, was very fond of Alfred and she loved him as if he was her son.
I would like to...

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family. My God give you peace in your time of sorrow.
