SPURLOCK, Alfred Fields Jr., age 62, of Ruther Glen, Va., passed on Monday, June 25, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; two daughters, Darice and Shinean; one son, Alfred F. Spurlock III "Fields"; granddaughter, Lanyah Shelton; two sisters, Rosa (Douglas) Brooks, Dolores (George) Brooks; brother, Douglas Spurlock; four sisters-in-law, five brothers- in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He rests at the Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home, 518 N. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va. 23005, where viewing will be held Friday, June 29, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Mangohick Baptist Church, 147 Mangohick Church Rd., Aylett, Va. Interment church cemetery.

To be aquainted with him in the most casual way was to know that smile that started at the corner of his mouth and would spread over his whole face and land in the eyes of the one looking at him.
