Not sure what to say?

I had the pleasure of sitting next to "Slick" at a game while attending a game during a SABR convention. He was a great gentleman and I treasure that day. Rest in peace Mr. Surratt.

Sat next to him at a game in Pittsburgh. Learned a lot. A
real gentleman.

I had the honor of sitting next to Slick at a ballgame during a SABR (Society of American Baseball Research) convention. Nice man, nice conversation.

Enjoyed knowing and working with Al in maintenance at Ford?

May God Bless You and Your Family.

I am so very sorry that I just found out this evening. Mr. Surratt was such a wonderful man and a great role model to me growing up across the "circle" from he, his wife, and his son, my friend. As I read the accounts, I can only echo the words of Fay Vincent...Mr. Surratt OOZED happiness. My deep condolences go out to Mrs. Surratt and Alfred.

Our Deepest sympathies to the family of Slick and our thoughts are of them in this time of sorrow.I only wish that I was there to weep for Little Slick Like I told slick I would do for him We had quite a joke about that

To the Surrat family: Just want to extend my sympathy.....From a white man who just feels bad that Mr. Surratt did not have the opportunity to play Major League baseball do to the discrimination of the time.
