(Uncle) Al was the epitome of what a young man should strive be. He was truly a roll model not only to myself and my cousins but to thousands of past students throughout the Pacific NW. He will be truly missed.

Al, sorry to hear bad news. My name is Richard Hans Svinth to those who are reading this. Al and myself are consins, in our very young years we played together. Are family did many things together . I enjoy his friendship with sisters and brother. Aunt Lillian was so nice. Al was highly valued as an elementary teacher, principal, and mentor for WSU student teachers in the Tacoma School District. In fact, he personally inspired me as my mentor as a beginning principal at Larchmont Elementary in 1983. I will long remember Al as a friend and an educator who deeply cared about his students, staffs, colleagues, and his family. My thoughts and prayers are now with Barb and the family he cherished.
