Al Thompson was the best artistic coach. The team he coached that I admired the most and because of them I started taking lessons was Tim Mitchel and Jere Strube.
I have just now seen that he had passed some time ago. My prayers are with the family and friends and he will be greatly missed.

Al Thompson was a great inspiration to many of us artistic roller skaters. Al had a beautiful way of teaching figure skating. His teams would appear as though they were floating on air like they were dancing on a cloud. My personal favorite team I ever saw Al coach was Timothy Mitchell and Je're Strube. Tim and Je're were the vision of perfection in 1978 truly a gift the art of figure skating. Al was truly one of the best.

Karen, My thoughts and prayers are with you. You and Al gave us kids a place to go to have fun and learn as we were growing up. Al will be greatly missed.

My love and sweet memories to Karen. I grew up skating at Rollero. I always admired your devotion to the neighborhood and the kids you saved.

I will miss Mr T alot. I valued his help with all my skating & will miss his smile as I wissed by him as he reminded me to hold my head up & smile. What a wonderful man he was.
