Not sure what to say?

I know this is long overdue, but just found the announcement. I knew Bear from 117 then worked with him at Mr. Fooz. Lived with him and Chip Harris summer of `82. Best Santa Claus ever!! Great guy, always smiled.

I worked with Bear at 117 in the 1970's. I bartended; he worked the door. We had some great times together there. Bear was a good guy.

Everyone has their own favorite Bear story. Everyone knew him or of him. I was just in Blacksburg recently after many years and while driving down Main St thought of him and felt certain he was still in town. What a shock to hear he is gone. My condolences to his family and everyone who knew and loved him. I'll raise a glass of French Champagne in your honor big man.

I worked with Bear years ago at the College Inn....had not seen him in a couple years, but every time I would run into him since the College Inn days he would have a big smile and a hug for me. What a gentle soul......

My sympathies and prayers to all who will miss this true Teddy Bear.

Unfortunately, it's been a while since Rob and I saw Bear. We would go to Mountain View, and Rob would ask our wait person to go back in the kitchen and tell Bear, "Dallas sucks." Soon he would pay a visit to our table to say hello and banter with Rob over Dallas and the Redskins. He was a special person.

Bear - I remember fondly those nights I threw with you as a teammate and against you as an opponent. In either case, you always had something positive to share. You're one of kind. The crickets will be chirping tonight.

Bear had one of the kindest hearts of any human that I have ever known. We had many great times and were truly good friends. I could always count on him. We just spoke last month and he was at my house and went with us last year to the Mr. Fooz reunion. I love my Bear.
