Alfredo Correia

Alfredo F. Correia, 91, formerly of Corbett St. and Ferry St., Fall River, died Monday at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Center. He was the husband of the late Felismina (Miranda) Correia.

Born in Bristol, RI, he was the son of the late Francisco Fernandes Correia and Faustina (Sousa) Correia, he resided in Fall River for most of his life. He was a founder and past president of the Academica Club in Fall River.

Mr. Correia was a union laborer for many years with Local 610.

He was a member of Santo Christo Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Fernanda Silva and her husband John of Fall River and Celina Chaves and her husband Antone of Fall River; two sons, Jorge Correia and his wife Mary of Fall River and Carlos Correia and his wife Judy of Fall River; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 5 - 8 p.m.
