Springfield – Alfredo Fuentes, 75, died peacefully Thursday evening.  Alfredo was born on February 24, 1945 in Puerto Rico to Bernardino and Amparo (Alicea) Fuentes. He came to Springfield in 1965. He worked at Abdow’s Big Boy Restaurant for 30 years before retiring, moved to PR for several years, and returned to Springfield. He was a die-hard Red Sox and Patriot’s fan.  Fuentes is survived by his children, Mariceliz Fuentes and her children, Hector Fuentes and his children, and James and Sara (Moussette) DiPinto, all of Springfield. His Siblings: Alejandrina (Fuentes) and Armando Cabrera, Angel Fuentes, Carmen Delia (Fuentes) Morales, Francisco, and Alicia (Martinez) Fuentes, Andrea (Fuentes) Cruz, Flor and Ana (Gomez) Fuentes, Maria Cristina (Fuentes) and Ruben Colon, Juan, and Lucy (Perez) Fuentes, Amparo Fuentes, Ruben, and Lucy (Reyes) Fuentes, Bernardino, and Damaris (Marrero) Fuentes, Margarita (Fuentes) and Miguel Negron, Maria Rodriguez (Fuentes).  He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.  The funeral will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church Tuesday at 10:00am followed by private burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Walk-Thru visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday from 5:00 – 7:00pm.  For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.
