It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Alfredo Gomez Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us on May 8, 2025, at the age of 85. 


Alfredo was born on February 25, 1940, and dedicated his life to his family and his work. 


A career construction professional, Alfredo retired as a superintendent with Burn Construction. Known for his easygoing, hardworking, and loving personality, he touched the lives of many with his kindness and integrity. 


His legacy will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Alfredo's warmth, humor, and dedication will be deeply missed but always remembered. 


Alfredo is survived by his wife of 66 years, Herlinda, and their seven children: Peter Gomez (wife Jeanette and children Monica, Priscilla, Peter Jr., and Anthony), Mikey Gomez (wife Becky), Peggy Ramirez (children Vee and Noelani), Daniel Gomez (wife Letty and children Daniel Jr and Miranda), Amelia Gomez (children Joshua and Iris), John Gomez (wife Julie and children Kimberley and John Jr.), Benjamin Gomez (wife Katherine) and granddaughter Ariana Rodriguez.  He is also survived by his siblings Gloria Duran (husband Chelo), Juan Gomez (wife Esther), Robert Gomez (wife Lily), and Lupe Lascano (husband Gilbert). Alfredo was a great-grandfather to 18 cherished great-grandchildren. 


Alfredo was preceded in death by his son Ray Anthony, daughter Amanda, great-grandchild Alyssa, and parents Alfredo and Sabina. 


A visitation for Alfredo will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2025, starting at 9am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Anthony, NM. A prayer vigil will begin at 10am with a memorial mass to honor his life to follow. Cremation will follow services. A reception to be held after at American Legion Post in Anthony, TX.  


Rest in peace, Alfredo. Your love and legacy will continue to inspire all who knew you.
