Not sure what to say?

Forgive my late condolences, I just learned of Scotty's death. Scotty, what a vast education and memory of details. Both Scotty and Alice were very much part of my family. My aunt (Mildred Scherf Bryan Fleming) worked for them when they were in the upstairs building on main street. I grew up visiting them often at the office and at their home. When I was able to get a work permit while in High School, I went to work for them proofing and doing bindery work. I continued to work for them for...

Alice and Scotty were such a part of my life in the years I worked in downtown Hanford -- two of the most interesting, dedicated people I ever knew. Scotty joining Alice in Lodi reminds me of the story he told me about taking her ashes to Lodi and being stopped by a Highway Patrolman for speeding. Scottty said the patrolman got a little shook when Scotty explained the box of ashes on the front seat. Scotty was unflappable, and so was Alice. May they rest in peace -- together forever.

I had the great honor of working for Alice and Scotty in their print shop following my graduation from Hanford High. I learned so much from them. They were a special couple.

I had my first job with Alice and Scotty 35 years ago while I was in high school. They both had the strongest work ethics of anyone I have ever known and am so glad I got my first start with them. I would think of them often throughout the years. Scotty was the sweetest man and I am so very glad that we got to see each other again after so many years. He hadn't changed a bit. Such a gentle man.
