Alice A. Backer

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Shirley and Skip, Jennifer, Wade and Jeff, Sheryl and Hayzen as well as Nancy, John Jr and their families. I met Alice in 1971 when my big brother, Skip, married Shirley. We became family and I have loved her ever since. She was always kind and loving to me and my husband, Shane. Over the years we always kept in touch and we would visit her when we were in the area. She always made us feel so welcome. I will always remember her sweet smile, kind heart, fun...

My sincere condolences to Shirley, John, and Nancy and their families in the passing of their Mother, Alice. My late parents, George and Bea Foulks, were long time family friends of the Backer Family. I have many fond memories during my childhood of sharing time with the Backers. I was a neighbor on Colton Ave. in Elk Grove and also best friends with Alice's Daughter Nancy...Alice always welcomed me and treated me like I was part of her family. So many fond memories of sleepovers, playing in the yard and Alice's worlds famous hamburgers! She was so gracious and kind and will be missed by many.
