On the morning of September 8, 2021, earning her wings, Alice Kay Briscoe very peacefully made her heavenly transition. Alice was born in Clements, MD on August 6, 1952 to the late Robert Benedict Bush, Sr. and Jean Cecelia Mills-Bush. Her co-workers called her Alice, however; family and friends referred to her as Kay. Kay received her education in the St. Mary's County Public School system, graduating from Chopticon High School in 1970.

After high school, she attended La Carze Business School in Washington, D.C. and began her career working for the Group Hospitalization Inc. (GHI), and later General Services Administration (GSA) in Washington, D.C. for many years before transferring to Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, MD. There she worked for close to fourteen years with a combined total of 21 years of Federal Government service until her retirement in early 2000. Throughout her career she earned several awards and was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the Federal Government.

Kay had a wonderful personality and was a true joy to be in the company of. After listening to the audio version of the Daily Bread, her mornings started with Fox 5 news and her days ended with Fox 5 news. She was also a huge fan of Judge Judy, Law and Order, and NCIS Miami. She was not to be disturbed during football season as she demanded the living room TV to watch football, especially when her favorite team (Pittsburgh Steelers) played. Kay loved working on crossword puzzles and prior to medical challenges she loved cooking. Those who knew her knew that she labeled herself as a Blue-Ribbon cook! She had a strong love for her family, especially her grandchildren and always made sure their Nana gave them whatever they asked for, even if she had to sacrifice to do so.

Despite the many challenges she faced, Kay always managed to overcome each one. She had a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her faith grew as a result. She was a fighter, and her strength was remarkable. She was also regarded as one who had a sense of humor. To add to that, she had a touch of sarcasm; for she definitely added laughter to those in her presence. In most cases, whenever people visited her, she would ask her visitor, ""what did you bring me"", and she would not be joking because she expected a gift. It didn't much matter if the gift was in the form of cash or if it was a milkshake, Kay didn't want you coming empty handed. She will forever live in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jean Bush; siblings, Robert B. Bush, Jr. (Linda), Bedelia A. Goldring (John), Michael W. Bush, Sr., Brenda M. Barnes, Anthony S. Bush, Thomas D. Bush; son, Wesley D. Bush; nephew, Raymond A. Barnes, Jr. and niece, Yelanda Bush-Coles.

She leaves to cherish her children, Wendy Morgan (Stephen) of California, MD, Alexis Bowman (Shannon) of Oxon Hill, MD; siblings, Charles L. Bush (Grace) of Clements, MD, and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Bush of Montgomery County; grandchildren, Demetri Gross and James Taylor Jr. of California, MD, Jauane Morgan (JaShayla) of Dameron, MD, KyJuan Morgan of Lusby, MD; great-grandchildren, Stephen, Jr. and Sienna of Dameron, MD; godson, Michael Hebb, Jr.; special friends, Jane Hebb, Sandra Johnson, Shirley Somerville, Sarah Brooks, along with several loving nephews, nieces, other family and friends.

Family and friends will unite on Thursday, September 16, 2021 for visitation at 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 37575 Chaptico Road, Chaptico, MD. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Church cemetery, Bushwood, MD.

To my Family. My deepest condolences for the loss of Kay. I haven't seen Kay in a while but when I did we talked and talked. I just ask Wendy about her mom. "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. The Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one, Don't be afraid, for I am with you, Don't be discouraged, for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you, I will hold you up with my victorious right-hand. God is the strength of my heart...
