Alice Carpenter - Gone ! This hèartbreaking news is painfully unbelievable.

The sight of one lovely picture of former Mount de Sales students with Alice, triggered an outpouring of memories of my ten-year stint as Religious and Culinary Arts teacher in the Academy.

Coming to America to teach was probably the most daring challenge I ever took: to test the treacherous waters in a foreign land; but to pursue the so called elusive American dream was a hauntingand...

I have missed Alice every day since she retired from MDSA. She was a friend, and a coworker. I love you and I miss you. Rest in Peace, my friend. May God Bless your family at this time.

Mrs. Carpenter turned every challenge into a blessing. She never failed to make you smile and was willing to drop everything to be there for you. She was everything I want to be when I grow up, joyful, loving, patient, selfless. I am better just for having known her and will always think of her when I have printer troubles.

Class of ‘17

Mrs. Carpenter (or Momma C) was such an important part of my time at Mount de Sales. I spent almost every break in the library and many hours after school with her. Even after graduation, we would go on lunch dates every once in awhile to catch up on how college was going. I'll always fondly remember her kindness, sense of humor, and her delicious cookies and blondies. Will be praying for her and for her family.

Mrs. Carpenter was one of the first people I met when I shadowed at MdSA. She was so sweet and always smiling whenever I saw her. When I attended MdSA myself, she was someone I always enjoyed talking to. I was always in the library, always at her desk talking. She was always someone that you could go to and just chat, I always joked that she was the grandma of MdSA. She always had little treats in her office, something she always joked was for the seniors, but she allowed other people to...

Ms. Carpenter made the library at MdS a sanctuary for over 20 years sailor students.
Having a cookie with her was like sitting down at the table with mom after school.
She not only gave us a safe place to learn but she made it feel like home.
And I'm sure I can speak for many a student when I say she single handedly made sure we all passed, With out her help I wouldn't have finished half the papers we had to write.

Thank you

Mrs. Carpenter was always a light and smiling face when going into the library wing of Mount de Sales. Whether it was book club, knitting club, or just hanging out in the library, she was always welcoming and enjoyed just having everyone around. If you were having a bad day, there would always be something she baked the day before in her office. She will be greatly missed by everyone in the Mount de Sales community.
