Montrose, PA: Alice J. Eldred, 87, of Montrose, PA, and formerly of South Montrose, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Wilkes Barre, PA to the late Harvey J. and Hazel (Felton) Sutton. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, James L., Sr. and Donalisle Eldred, Montrose, PA, son-in-law, Arthur Snyder, Montrose, PA, 4 grandchildren and their spouses, Jeanette (Ron) Craige, Brenda (Keith) Petersen, Leslie Snyder and Carl Gelatt, James L., Jr. (Kim) Eldred, 11 great grandchildren and their spouses, Phillip (Shelly) Petersen, Nick Petersen, John (Aubrey) Snyder, Donald Snyder, Christopher, Benjamin, and James Eldred, III, Kyle, Brittany, and Briana Gelatt, Jacob and Nicole Craige, 3 great-great grandchildren, Phillip, Jr., Kiersten, and Eric, sister, Marion Nye, Friendsville, PA, nieces and nephews. Predeceasing Alice is her husband of 54 years, Lester J. Eldred, daughters, Sandra May Snyder and Carol Jean Eldred, grandson, Arthur Snyder, Jr., brothers, Clifford, Gaylord, and Wallace Sutton. Alice attended the South Montrose Community Church, she also attended the monthly meetings of the widow, widowers meetings in Montrose. Alice loved her flower garden, but above everything, her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, Montrose, PA. Interment will be in the South Montrose Cemetery. Visitations will be at the Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Donations in Alice's name can be made to Humane Society, P.O. Box 45, Montrose, PA, or to the charity of one's choice.

I loved going to see Aunt Alice and Uncle Lester. I have so many memories and Gram loved going up to the house to dig up green. Now the whole gang is together.

To the Eldred family, sorry for your loss. Just know she's in a better place now,& in no pain.
