Not sure what to say?

Today I received a Valentine from Marti, my beloved freshman roommate at Hendricks Hall. 1952 Marti and I bonded instantly BUT I remember ardently wishing that Alice would be with us. Alice was the the cutest and would obviously be more fun than anybody!

In this difficult historic moment, this time of doubts I think how welcome Alice's bright observations and bright humor would be. I miss her.

My condolences to Jack and their children. I will never ever forget Alice Belt Faust. We were all in Hawaii, as I was born on Kauai too, when the bombs came. I spoke with ikebana teacher Mrs. Kodachi today and learned of Alice's passing. Alice was my buddy in class (and we connected over our upbringing in Hawaii) and we helped each other with gentle feedback and encouragement. Alice was special. We loved sharing a walk on the beach, listening to mariachi music, and dining as the waves rolled by in Puerto Vallarta. Dear friend, sorely missed
