Dear Wilma and family,

I was sad to hear about Rusty's passing. I pray God will comfort and strengthen you in your time of loss.
I cannot remember a time when I did not know Rusty. She was a teacher in the same department as my father at Vailsburg High School. Rusty enjoyed many evenings with our family around our kitchen table. How she loved my parents, Michael and Rose Mirabella!

I met Rusty in 1997 when she lived in Glen Ridge, NJ. We spent many happy times talking about her career as an educator in New Jersey. Later, she came twice to visit me in CA; we also met in Colorado in 2000. She and I often discussed the fact that she had been born a month before the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, which triggered the beginning of World War I! I will never forget Rusty Hines.

I got to see Ms. Hines several years ago right before my 40th class reunion in 2004. She remembered me and made me feel special.

As a graduate of Vailsburg High School I fondly remember Miss Hines a outstanding physical education teacher. My sympathies to her family during this difficult time. May God bless you and keep you today and always.

Over the years I have often thought of Miss Hines. She was a teacher who one remembered after Vailsburg High School. Great stories, great smile and that red hair. I'm sorry for your loss.
