I lived nearly across the street from Alice and Irving when I was a little girl. "Mrs. Alice" was also my first Sunday School teacher. She was a wonderful neighbor and friend and contributed greatly to her community. I remember how kind she was to me as a little girl, even when I innocently tracked mud all through her spotless kitchen. She was who one I think of when I hear the phrase "salt of the earth". My sincere condolences.
