Not sure what to say?

When I was about 11-12 my dad,Arthur Firman, took our whole family to visit his Aunt Mae in Cranston RI. While we were there we met more relatives, Aunt Alice and her family. While we were there we met many cousins and the place we met had the most marvelous climbing tree. Aunt Alice told us all about a radio personality relative. She had a whole room, his office, with memorabilia and awards for radio.

My sincerest condolences to all the Durigan family on the loss of Auntie
Alice and my dear my dear cousin Alice!! The Ballard gang will always remember her laughter and wit.
Jean Ballard Finnerty Newberry,
Hampstead. North Carolina
will always remember her laughter and wit.

RIP Ms. Hurl. You were an amazing teacher.

junior English, Warwick Vets, 1958. No nonsense in her class - discipline with a smile. The best English teacher we ever had. The kind sadly lacking in today's public schools.

My deepest sympahties to Alice's family. We had many conversations at St. Peter's Church. She always had a smile on her face and a funny anecdote to share.

MY PRAYERS ARE OFFERED TO THE FAMILY OF MS. HURL. SHE WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST INSPIRATIONS IN MY LIFE. SHE WAS AN EXCELLENT TEACHER BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY AN EXTRAORDINARY HUMAN BEING. I AM GRATEFUL TO HAVE HAD HER IN MY LIFE, SHE MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE. RIP DEAR LADY FOR YOU SURELY WERE A GREAT CONTRIBUTION TO MANY PEOPLE.

Ms Hurl told me she hand-picked me for her class. First I was terrified, then became greatful. Thanks for believing in me!

The BEST ever English teacher. I was so pleased to get her mailing address recently and send her a letter telling her what a great teacher she was. I was her student back in the 50's when Gorton was a junior/senior high school. Whenever I hear a politician or newsperson make a blatant grammatical error, I always think. Miss Hurl must be cringing! So pleased to attend her funeral mass which was a beautiful tribute to her.

I had the pleasure of being her student in 1977 while in the 11th grade at Pilgrim. God bless her.
