Alice Jane Luce Kiersnowski

Mrs. Luce was my 4th grade teacher. My favorite memory is when she took a few members of our class to Lovell's for ice cream as a reward for learning our multiplication tables. Lovell's is closed now but I still think of her every time I drive by that building. My daughter is now going to college to become a teacher and I can only hope that she can help shape some young lives as woderfully as Mrs Luce did.

Hi I am Jacklyn (Howe) Garcia, the oldest daughter of Fred & Pat Howe of Washington.
I have so many fond memories of Aunt Alice at the cottage when I was young and their visits here in California.
My deepest sympathy to the family.
We attend funerals to honor their memory and grieve with tears. Just as we will see Jesus. I have no doubt that we will someday see Aunt Alice. Then we will have tears of joy at that great reunion. Our prayers are with you. God Bless

I met Alice through my friend Cliff Knapp, a cousin of hers, when I first moved to Elmira. She and Erwin opened their home to me for 6 months as I started my first teaching job. We had several great times at the lake with them. She will be missed.

On behalf of my Father Fred Howe and all our family, we are sad to see the passing of my Aunt Alice. My Father has many fond memories of his sister. Being raised in California I did not have the pleasure of growing up knowing her real well, but the memories I do have she was a lovely lady and will be truly missed by many.

I had Mrs. Howe for 4th grade at Broad Street. She was a great teacher that accepted every student for who they were. My sympathies to the family.
