Peppler Funeral Home - Allentown Obituary

Alice E. Kramer, the matriarch of her family and loving mother of seven, passed away at home, surrounded by her family (just as she would have wanted) on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the age of 94. Born on September 11, 1924 in Florence, she grew up in Shrewsbury and married Albert Eugene “Fuzzy” Kramer, Jr.

Alice made a living providing cleaning services but spent most of her days hollering at Fuzzy and chasing her seven kids, 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren around with “fanny whackers”. Considered the rock of her family, our barefooted Alice was a wise and tough old lady who lived off potatoes, bacon grease and KFC and was often found at the Hightstown Diner, enjoying an early bird special, “8 and a quarter and no dishes!” Alice loved life and her friends at Wheaton Point. She loved just sitting outside gossiping with her best friend Josephine.

Predeceased by her husband, Fuzzy; her son, Albert E. Kramer III and her daughters, Jean Anne Magee and Mary Jane Stout; Alice leaves behind her sons, Eugene A. Kramer and Edward A. “Moose” Kramer; her daughters, Priscilla “Patsy” Galloway and Linda L. Roughgarden as well as countless numbers of grand, great grand and great great grandchildren that are keeping her legacy alive.

A memorial service will be held 11am on Sunday, November 4th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown. In lieu of flowers, Alice requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Our condolences go to all the family of Mrs. Alice Emma Archer Kramer. As we knew her over many years, she was a very kind, thoughtful, courageous, and friendly lady whose influence will continue from generation to generation. When we heard of her passing, Proverbs 3:17 came to mind, which says that "her ways are ways of pleasantness and all her paths are peace." This does not mean that her life was an easy one, but that in spite of difficulties at various stages of her 94 years, she trusted,...
